Consuelo is restoring and renovating her new London home/studio; a grade 2 listed Chapel, at Clapham Common northside, London.
Built and designed by Arts & Crafts architect Philip Webb in 1897 as a private Chapel to Gilmore House, the original home of Isabella Gilmore; sister of William Morris. The stained glass windows are by pre Raphaelite artist Edward Burne-Jones.
The Chapel represents years of searching for an unusual and beautiful space in London, capable of functioning both as a working studio with hanging space for a permanent, changing exhibition and as a unique home.
Consuelo’s next exhibition will be pre Christmas 2012 to celebrate the opening of the Chapel with an exhibition of new paintings. Dates and details to follow.
